About this paper

Renaud Lambiotte

The authors model how AI adoption and independent skill influence one another in a population. Agents copy peers based on payoffs, while practice builds unaided skill and AI use lets it fade; crowding reduces AI’s benefit as adoption grows. Simulations show a temporary benefit increase can leave adoption high after it recedes, but outcomes are finite and escape remains possible.
