About this paper
Félix Martinez-Jiménez, Sander Miller-Murphy, Tobie Ondoa-Essomba, Emmanuel Witrant
The authors examine why iterative feedback tuning misestimates controller updates on throttle valves with friction and stiction. A second closed-loop experiment estimates sensitivities, but changed starting states can bias gradients; changing its amplitude does not remove the problem. Across ten digital twins, downhill directions occurred at 69% of tested low-cost points. Hardware results varied across two valves and few runs.
