About this paper
Songhe Wang, David Miller, Charles A. Kamhoua
DCAP treats 3D placement as specifying an object’s release state and simulating its settling, rather than predicting only a final pose. It identifies supports and anchors, then models gravity, contact, friction and deformable materials. On the 1,923-case split, its VLM Physics and Naturalness score is 85.2, versus FirePlace’s 64.0. These results apply to reconstructed simulation scenes, not validated real-world placement.
