About this paper

Matt Bowring

The method reduces CX gates in exact synthesis of generic n-qubit unitaries without ancillas. It adds a tunable single-qubit pivot that balances multiplexor phases, removing a rotation and enabling one fewer CX per recursion node than Block-ZXZ. For five qubits, it uses 402 CX gates versus 423. The pivot’s existence is formally verified for generic unitaries, with runtime longer.
